Quality & Supplier Development Engineer

As a Quality & Supplier Development Engineer (m/f/d) – Mineral Grinding Sourcing, you will oversee and manage development, quality, and expediting activities for our capital and service equipment business, ensuring exceptional customer service. Position is located in Düsseldorf, Germany.

 

What you’ll do

  • Take full ownership of quality, development, and expediting activities with suppliers in your area.
  • Support sourcing and evaluation of new suppliers.
  • Monitor supplier performance and follow up on corrective actions and improvement plans.
  • Collaborate with procurement, product line quality, and logistics teams to ensure robust supply chain performance.
  • Report and analyze operational purchasing KPIs on a timely basis.
  • Conduct supplier audits and development activities alongside product line Quality Teams.
  • Ensure end-product quality at suppliers and expedite project delivery requirements.
  • Drive operational excellence in supplier quality and expediting processes.
  • Coordinate and participate in communications between suppliers and internal departments to resolve technical and systemic procurement issues.
  • Support evaluation and closure of back-charging suppliers, monitor on-time delivery performance, and liaise with relevant Metso teams.

 

Who you are

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience; technicians without a degree should have long-term relevant experience.
  • Several years of professional experience in Global Mining or an equivalent industry in quality or supplier development.
  • Certifications in NDT (minimum Level II UT, MT, PT) or welding engineering are advantageous.
  • Knowledge of foundry processes is a must and gear manufacturing is a plus.
  • Ability to work effectively with global teams and suppliers.
  • Professional-level English is a must; German language skills are a plus.
  • Work authorization for Germany is required.
  • Strong customer focus, balancing quality, delivery, and cost.
  • Solid manufacturing and quality knowledge.
  • Travel requirement of up to 75% (Germany, France, Netherlands, Sweden)
