The Opportunity

 

The Site & Operations Manager, Cromer, is responsible for the overall performance, leadership and development of the Cromer operation, serving as the primary manufacturing and operations hub for Mining Slurry Valves in Australia.

 

The role combines full site leadership with operational accountability for safety, quality, delivery, productivity and cost performance. The position is responsible for leading manufacturing, assembly, supply chain, quality, engineering support and site services while ensuring the operation supports the growth objectives.

 

The Site & Operations Manager will drive operational excellence, continuous improvement, customer responsiveness and long-term capability development while maintaining compliance with all regulatory and company requirements. The role also acts as the primary local leader for employees and key stakeholders at the Cromer site.

Key Responsibilities

 

Site Leadership

  • Lead all day-to-day operations at the Cromer site.
  • Act as the Site Manager with accountability for safety, environmental compliance, employee wellbeing and site governance.
  • Develop a high-performing culture based on accountability, teamwork and continuous improvement.
  • Lead and develop the local leadership team.

 

Manufacturing & Operations

  • Ensure safe, efficient and cost-effective manufacturing and assembly of Mining Slurry Valves and related products.
  • Drive operational performance in quality, productivity, delivery and cost.
  • Establish standard work, capacity planning and operational discipline across the site.
  • Support future growth and operational scaling requirements.

 

Supply Chain & Logistics

  • Oversee planning, procurement, warehouse and logistics activities.
  • Optimize inventory levels and working capital.
  • Strengthen supplier performance and material availability.
  • Collaborate with regional and global supply chain teams to ensure continuity of supply.

 

Quality & Continuous Improvement

  • Ensure products consistently meet customer and company quality requirements.
  • Drive Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lead root-cause analysis and corrective actions for operational deviations.
  • Promote a culture of operational excellence and problem solving.

 

Financial Accountability

  • Own site operating budgets and cost performance.
  • Support capital investment planning and site development initiatives.
  • Identify productivity and cost reduction opportunities.
  • Deliver operational results in line with annual financial objectives.

 

People & Organization

  • Develop organizational capability and succession plans.
  • Drive employee engagement and leadership development.
  • Ensure effective communication and collaboration across all functions.
  • Foster an inclusive, safety-first and high-performance culture.

 

Global & Regional Collaboration

  • Represent Cromer within the global Pumps Operations organization.
  • Participate in regional and global operations initiatives.
  • Share best practices and support operational alignment across sites.
  • Work closely with Sales, Service, Engineering, Product Management and Supply Chain teams.

 

About You

 

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management or related discipline.
  • Minimum 8–10 years of leadership experience within manufacturing or industrial operations.
  • Previous experience managing production, supply chain and quality functions.
  • Experience in mining, minerals processing, valves, pumps or heavy industrial equipment is preferred.
  • Demonstrated success leading operational improvements and organizational development.
  • Strong financial and business acumen.
  • Experience operating within a global matrix organization is advantageous.
  • SAP (S/4) experience
