Join a global leader and play a key role in strengthening Safety, Quality and Environmental practices across two busy NSW operations in Cromer and Rockdale.

 

Following the recent integration of these businesses into Metso, we’re embedding our global QEHS framework and building strong foundations across both sites. This role will focus heavily on safety uplift in the first 6–12 months, helping to improve behaviours, embed practical controls and establish the core systems that support safe, efficient operations.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Facilitating and maintaining HIRACs, Risk Registers, Safe Work Instructions and critical control verifications
  • Leading daily safety activities including site walks, inspections, task observations and toolbox talks
  • Managing incident and near-miss reporting, investigations and corrective actions
  • Supporting emergency preparedness, WHS compliance and documentation
  • Establishing and maintaining quality procedures, forms, registers and work instructions aligned to global standards
  • Supporting calibration processes, non-conformance management and in-process quality controls
  • Maintaining environmental registers and supporting waste and emissions initiatives
  • Running collaborative workshops with workers to develop practical HIRACs and SWIs
  • Delivering training, coaching and guidance to supervisors and teams
  • Maintaining QEHS dashboards, documentation and reporting

 

 

You will bring:

  • 3–7+ years’ experience in WHS or QEHS roles within manufacturing, heavy industry, fabrication or similar environments
  • Strong knowledge of WHS legislation and risk management processes
  • Hands-on experience with HIRACs, Safe Work Instructions and incident investigations
  • Experience building or improving quality and environmental documentation or systems
  • Confidence engaging with teams on the workshop floor and influencing safe behaviours
  • A valid driver’s licence and ability to travel between sites
  • Qualifications or training such as Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety, Certificate IV in Training & Assessment, or ISO internal auditor experience/exposure to ISO 9001 / 14001 / 45001 systems
  • Experience supporting multiple operational sites is highly valued
