Introduction

Are you a business-oriented IT leader passionate about digital transformation, AI adoption, and enabling business success through technology?

We are looking for an experienced Country IT Manager – Greater China to act as the primary technology partner for our China organization. This strategic leadership role combines business engagement, IT governance, digital transformation, vendor management, project leadership, cybersecurity oversight, and operational excellence in a multinational environment.

As Country IT Manager, you will work closely with local business leaders, Regional IT, Global IT, and technology partners to ensure that IT services, digital initiatives, and technology investments create measurable business value while supporting Metso's growth strategy in China.

What You'll Do

Business Partnership & Leadership

  • Serve as the primary IT advisor and technology partner for China business leadership.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders and align technology initiatives with business priorities.
  • Represent China within Regional and Global IT organizations.

Digital Transformation & AI

  • Champion digital transformation, AI adoption, automation, and innovation initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, collaboration, user experience, and business performance through technology.
  • Support implementation of new digital capabilities and ways of working.

IT Governance & Service Performance

  • Govern IT service delivery across China in collaboration with global IT teams, vendors, and service partners.
  • Ensure services meet business expectations, agreed service levels, and quality standards.
  • Lead escalation management and stakeholder communication for critical business issues.

Projects, Vendors & Financial Management

  • Lead technology projects and local business initiatives.
  • Manage vendor relationships, contracts, budgets, forecasting, and cost optimization.
  • Support strategic technology investments and continuous improvement programs.

Cybersecurity & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with corporate IT policies, cybersecurity standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support risk management, audit activities, business continuity, and disaster recovery planning.

What you’ll bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
  • 15+ years of IT experience, including leadership roles in IT operations, business technology, infrastructure, digital transformation, or service delivery.
  • Experience working in multinational and matrix organizations.
  • Strong business partnership and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Experience with vendor management, budgeting, procurement, and outsourced service delivery models.
  • Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, enterprise applications, cloud technologies, cybersecurity, and IT service management.
  • Experience driving digital transformation, automation, AI initiatives, or technology-enabled business improvements.
  • Fluent Mandarin Chinese and professional English.
