Introduction
We are seeking a Production Planner to join our Consumables NCA Pump Business Line team. You will be responsible for production planning, assembly coordination, and expediting of orders for all pump equipment orders assembled in Columbia, SC, which involves expanding the bills of material to review and identify material shortages affecting product delivery and responding to inventory demand and expedite needs. Your role plays a crucial part in maintaining an open line of communication with purchasing, quality, sourcing, technical support, and Contracts Administration, which will contribute to the timely and efficient delivery of products. In this position, you will report to the Production Manager.
This position is mainly located in Columbia, South Carolina, but we are happy to offer flexible working arrangements, including hybrid options.
Team you belong to:
You will join a team of experts in production planning and assembly coordination dedicated to ensuring the timely and efficient delivery of pump equipment orders. We are currently working on developing and maintaining master assembly production schedules, leading weekly production meetings, and coordinating with technical support, sourcing, and purchasing.
We work closely with internal stakeholders, such as the Internal Quotations & Inquiries Team, Order Management Group, Customer Order Engineering, Operative Purchasing, Quality, Sourcing, and Logistics. Our team culture is all about collaboration, efficiency, and continuous improvement. The members in our team are located in various locations.
What you’ll do:
- Develop, maintain, and communicate master assembly production schedules.
- Lead weekly production meetings and publish key actions.
- Coordinate with technical support, sourcing, and purchasing to ensure that all Engineering Change Orders (ECO’s) are in place where applicable to the order.
- Consult with Applications, Engineering, Production Control, Purchasing, Sourcing, QA, and Technical Support to resolve issues in assembly.
- Ensure accurate and achievable MRP from production order creation to completion.
- Maintain level forecasted capacity utilization in SAP.
- Ensure production orders are in support of sales order first promise dates.
- Make lead time recommendations to Applications Engineering based on available capacity.
Who you are:
- Minimum of Associates degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business or related field or equivalent education and experience (BA degree a plus).
- Minimum 3-5 years’ working experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
- Understands and has experience working in a make-to-order (MTS) business environment.
- High level of computer skills – SAP Materials Management (MM) experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with pumps is a plus (nice-to-have).
- Technical aptitude required.
- Strong sense of urgency, personal ownership of position, and willingness to go beyond job boundaries.
- Organized with keen observation skills and a strong attention to detail.
- Ability to read and understand bills of materials with sub-level assemblies.
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to understand engineering drawings.
- Ability to make complex decisions in a constantly changing environment.
- Energetic with strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong ability to anticipate problems and develop solutions.
- Ability to understand issues domestically and internationally and communicate effectively in a team atmosphere.
- Be self-motivated and complete assigned tasks with minimum supervision.
- Take initiative to identify and anticipate customer needs and make recommendations for implementation.
