Technical Sales Support - LCS

Centurion, ZA

 

The successful candidate will be responsible for Identifying, developing and proposing cost saving value add solutions to our customers in the region.

In this position, you will report directly to the Head of Commercial Proposals

This position is mainly located in Centurion, Gauteng

 

TEAM YOU’LL BELONG TO

You will join our Commercial Proposals & LCS team and work closely with internal and external stakeholders, such as Local Sales Organization, Local Field Services Organization, LCS Global Support Team, Product Lines, Customers.

 

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Technical Sales Support - LCS is responsible to provide assistance and direction to ensure:

  • Identify LCS opportunities at customers
  • Develop the value-add solution based on customer KPI’s
  • Make the customer aware of all Metso LCS offerings
  • Create conceptual budgetary proposals and costing sheets
  • Review and participate in Global ISS Approvals
  • Present the value-add solution to the prospective customer
  • Create the Scope in conjunction with the Support departments
  • Present Final & Firm Proposals
  • Assist with Negotiating and Closing the LCS Opportunity
  • In conjunction with the Sales Area, create financial targets i.e. Annual Budgets and Medium to Long term growth plans
  • Create awareness of new LCS Solutions to Key Account Managers
  • Communicate new releases of LCS Products from the Global Product line to Key Account Managers

 

WHO YOU ARE

  • Matric (Grade 12)
  • Diploma or bachelor’s degree in engineering, Metallurgy or similar
  • Minimum five (5) years’ experience in a service and sales function – preferably mining 
  • A proven track record of professional accomplishments and reliability
  • Familiarity with the broad range of Mining equipment / products and services 
  • High sense of urgency and the ability to develop action plans, and meet deadlines 
  • Experience in complex matrix organizations / relationships

 

WHAT SKILLS, COMPETENCIES AND REQUIREMENTS (HARD AND SOFT) ARE ESSENTIAL FOR THIS ROLE?

  • Strong inter-personal skills 
  • Commercially very strong
  • Willing to actively engage in problem solving 
  • Must be capable of effectively and accurately working on several projects at one time, and organizing, prioritizing tasks and working in a fast-paced environment. Skills need to include building internal relationships, negotiation skills and understanding of customer needs and market requirements
  • A high level of computer skills is essential – Excel, Word and PowerPoint 
  • Knowledge of Sales Force 
  • Extensive travelling – Central Africa and South Africa
