We are looking for a Sourcing Manager, CNS Procurement to join our Consumables Procurement team in the Market Area Africa organization. In this role, you will lead sourcing and category management for assigned CNS procurement categories, developing supplier strategies and commercial agreements that support profitability, supply continuity, quality, compliance, and procurement synergies across the business.

You will report to the Vice President, Consumables Procurement, and the role location is Centurion, South Africa, with a hybrid working model available.

Team you will belong to

You will join the Consumables Procurement team, which is responsible for translating Business Line, Product Line, Technical Sales Support, and delivery requirements into practical sourcing strategies, supplier development initiatives, and commercial agreements that support CNS business objectives. The team plays an important role in strengthening supplier performance, competitiveness, availability, compliance, and long-term procurement value.The team collaborates closely with Purchasing, Services Project Procurement, Delivery Teams, Project Managers, Supply Chain Operations, Supplier Quality, HSE, Finance, Legal, other Metso procurement organizations, and key external suppliers. Team members are based in Centurion and Germiston and work together to support sourcing excellence across local and global procurement activities.

What you'll do

Develop and execute sourcing strategies aligned with Business Line, Product Line, Market Area, and CNS Procurement priorities for assigned categories.Identify, evaluate, qualify, onboard, and develop suppliers to strengthen competitiveness, lead times, availability, resilience, and supplier capability.Negotiate framework agreements, commercial terms, pricing structures, and contracts while acting as vendor owner for strategic suppliers.Manage strategic supplier relationships through performance reviews, continuous improvement initiatives, and systematic follow-up of deviations and corrective actions.Drive cost savings, cost avoidance, payment-term improvements, procurement synergies, and total cost competitiveness while maintaining quality, availability, and customer delivery performance.Support Operational Purchasing by resolving supplier escalations, lead-time challenges, availability risks, and commercial issues affecting supply continuity.Partner with Supplier Quality, Quality, and Operations teams to address non-conformances, claims, corrective actions, and supplier performance improvement activities.Collaborate with stakeholders on forecasting, market intelligence, sourcing readiness, product development activities, procurement analytics, and supplier strategy execution.

What you'll bring

Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Procurement, Business, or a related field, or equivalent technical or procurement experience.Strong experience in sourcing, category management, procurement, supplier development, or project procurement within mining, minerals processing, engineering, OEM, or heavy industry environments.Strong technical and commercial understanding of mining equipment, engineered components, services, pricing, contracts, supplier capability, and supply risk management.Demonstrated ability to negotiate effectively and manage strategic supplier relationships across cost, quality, delivery, compliance, and sustainability objectives.Ability to develop and execute sourcing strategies that balance commercial performance, operational requirements, and long-term supplier development.Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across global matrix organizations and diverse supplier networks.Experience using procurement systems and analytics tools to support sourcing decisions, supplier management, and data-driven performance improvement.Strong communication, presentation, analytical, and documentation skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Fluent English communication skills.

Nice to have

CIPS or an equivalent procurement qualification.Experience with B-BBEE or preferential procurement practices, supplier sustainability initiatives, or Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) frameworks.Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, SAP, JAGGAER Direct, Sievo, Power BI, Salesforce, or related procurement and analytics tools.
