We are seeking a The Senior Specialist, Project Purchasing is a key driver of procurement success within Services Engineer-to-Order (ETO) projects, taking full ownership of purchasing execution and supply chain performance from project initiation through final delivery. This role is accountable for meeting critical KPIs—including on-time delivery, contract acceptance, and supplier performance—and serves as a strategic partner to project management, engineering, and supplier teams.

 

With a high level of autonomy and responsibility, the Senior Specialist ensures that all contractual purchasing obligations are fulfilled with precision, transparency, and proactive risk mitigation. This role demands a strong sense of ownership, leadership in cross-functional collaboration, and a results-driven mindset to support overall project success.

 

In this position, you will report directly to the Senior Manager, Project Procurement

This position is mainly located in Centurion, Gauteng.

 

TEAM YOU’LL BELONG TO

  • You will join our Projects Procurement team and work closely with internal and external stakeholders, such as Service Providers, Category Managers​, Project Managers​, Business Lines and Product Lines​, Other Market Areas, Sales Team​ and the Purchasing​ Team.

 

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Own the end-to-end procurement process for assigned ETO projects, ensuring alignment with project schedules, budgets, and technical requirements.
  • Create and manage purchase orders based on project manager assignments, ensuring accuracy and timely execution.
  • Lead supplier engagement and performance management, including escalation of risks and resolution of delivery challenges.
  • Facilitate project kick-off and milestone meetings to align procurement activities with project goals and stakeholder expectations.
  • Ensure compliance with Global Procurement Policies, corporate standards, and legal regulations.
  • Coordinate logistics and documentation for international shipments, ensuring timely and compliant delivery.
  • Manage project-specific inventory movements, including stock reservations and transfers, with full accountability for accuracy and timing.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying process gaps and implementing best practices across procurement activities

 

 WHO YOU ARE

  • Matric (Grade 12)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline (preferred).
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in procurement within the machinery, engineering, or industrial manufacturing sectors.
  • Experience in project-based environments or ETO models is highly desirable
  • Expertise in operational procurement processes and strategic sourcing.
  • Advanced proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) for procurement execution, reporting, and analytics
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

  • Proven ability to manage supplier relationships and lead contract negotiations with measurable outcomes.
  • Strong understanding of international trade compliance and regulatory frameworks.
  • Demonstrated ability to track and improve procurement KPIs such as on-time delivery, cost variance, and supplier quality.
  • High degree of personal accountability and ownership of procurement deliverables and project outcomes.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
  • Effective communicator and collaborator across departments, suppliers, and leadership levels
