We are seeking a Quality Control Specialist to join our Warehousing Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the distribution centre operations that are accountable for the warehouse performance and efficiency.

 

In this position, you will report to the Head of Quality.

This position is mainly located in Kempton Park, Gauteng.

 

TEAM YOU BELONG TO

You will join the Warehousing Team and work closely with internal & external stakeholders, such as DHL, Site Account Managers, Commercial Support, Engineers, Global Logistics Operators, LCS, Legal, Tactical Support and TSS.

 

WHAT YOU WILL DO

These duties may or will be altered or may be extended as new facts and requirements becomes available relating to safety and production / operational requirements

 

  • Assist in Managing inspection/quality control area (Warehouse/DC) with LSP
  • Quality Inspections as per defined criteria and verifying the accuracy of the parts at DC/warehouse
  • NCRs/Supplier corrective action requests and plans
    • Containment
    • Verification of effectiveness of corrective actions
    • Feedback to Procurement and Product Data teams
  • Maintain relevant quality information in systems (SAP/Jaggaer): QNs to SAP, follow up NCRs etc.
  • Escalating of major and systematic problems to Procurement
  • Escalate of Incorrect/Incomplete Supply to supplying plants
  • Support LSP with Visual and Document Inspection when requested
  • Assist LSP with Quantity Verifications when requested
  • Assist LSP with Bill of material if available on SAP or advise Buyer to raise ODR ticket too
  • Inspect and advise on returned items
  • Advise LSP on rework for items picked

  • Basic risk assessment
  • Manual handling
  • Incident identification and reporting
  • Sales force recording and capturing
  • Safe working procedure training (theoretical and practical assessment)

 

WHO YOU ARE

  • Matric (Grade 12)
  • Warehousing Experience
  • Excel
  • Flexibility to Travel
  • Microsoft Outlook
  • Good Collaborative Skills
  • SAP Experience (Preferable)

  • Strong customer business understanding with customer service mindset
  • Solid understanding of the Global Operation Logistics departments
  • Good understanding of Warehouse operations
  • Strong analytical and conceptual thinking
  • Vendor requirements understanding
  • Good understanding of Metso IT systems
  • Basic understanding of technologies and products
  • Incident Investigation
  • Able to read drawings
  • Identify material or communicate internal with departments to assist with identification
  • Visual and physical inspection of material and capturing and using measuring devices
  • Good understanding of Quality systems and products
