We are seeking a motivated and technically-oriented Product Sales Support (Advanced Automation, Electrical and Software Services) professional to join our team for the Africa region. This role involves providing specialized Bulk Material Handling technical sales support, managing and driving the sales process, and collaborating with sales teams to build campaigns, prioritize opportunities, and develop solutions. The role has a focus on understanding the customers' business and being able to determine the best solution to suit their needs and requirements.
This position will be the interface between the market area and the business line product teams, ensuring alignment and effective communication. The position supports product development teams in creating and deploying offerings, best practices, sales training, and value argumentation. This position can be based in Pittsburgh, York, Vancouver, but we are happy to offer flexible working options, including hybrid arrangements. This position may require up to 70% travel, predominantly regionally and occasional globally.

You will join a team of Technical Product and Sales experts enthusiastic about technical development and business growth. The goal of the team is to provide high-quality technical solutions for customer opportunities and projects, ensuring that our proposed solutions are viewed as the superior choice for our customers, promoting brand value, and achieving booking and margin results. We work closely with internal stakeholders, such as Sales, Proposals, Engineering, and Project Management teams in a global setting.
What You’ll Do
- Sales Support: Lead or support sales for designated service offerings and technologies.
- Solution Lead: Act as the Solution Lead on sales cases based on competence and situation.
- Business Line and Market Area collaboration: As part of the business line, work within the embedded Market Area sales team to ensure alignment and facilitating a seamless interface.
- Customer Understanding: Perform site surveys and understand customers’ requirements.
- Value Co-Creation: Ensure effective value co-creation with customers.
- Sales Case Management: Oversee the progress of sales cases from lead to proposal and negotiations, ensuring profitability.
- Market Understanding: Keep abreast of market, competition, and industry best practices.
- Training: Coach and train market area service sales teams.
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to sales processes, proposal, and risk management procedures.
- Product Development: Collaborate with the product development team to manage products/offerings.
- Feedback: Provide frontline feedback and improvement ideas to product development and delivery teams.
- Warranty and Inspection: Support warranty processes, validate information on the installed base, and review inspection reports.
Who You Are
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Automation Engineering.
- Experience: 4 to 6 years of relevant experience.
- Industry: Bulk Materials Handling knowledge.
- Strong background in engineering design principles, product knowledge of major mining equipment, excellent communication skills, ability to understand and communicate issues domestically and internationally, and high-level computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Knowledge: Electrical, automation and software, Bulk material Handling equipment, Mining market, supplier evaluation, and risk management.
- Skills: Strategic vision, systemic vision, negotiation, assertive communication, critical analysis, and planning.
