Introduction


We are seeking a Senior Logistics Specialist APA to join our Consumables Logistics APA team. You will be responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership for logistics activities supporting mining consumables, overseeing regional logistics operations, and driving process optimization, which involves managing complex transportation networks and ensuring reliable delivery performance across all customer segments. Your role plays a crucial part in enabling efficient factory and distribution operations and ensuring visibility, compliance, and continuous improvement across logistics activities, which will contribute to improved service, cost control, and customer satisfaction. In this position, you will report to Regional Logistics, CNS Logistics


This position is located at our Canning Vale facility. We are happy to offer flexible working arrangements, including hybrid options.

 

 

Team you belong to:


You will join a team of supply chain and logistics experts dedicated to optimizing warehousing and distribution processes, who are passionate about driving reliable delivery performance and continuous improvement across logistics operations. We are currently working on visibility and tracking processes, continuous improvement initiatives, performance dashboards, and multi-site distribution operations.


We work closely with internal and external stakeholders, such as Production, Procurement, Planners, HS&E, and logistics carriers and vendors. Our team culture is all about collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement. The members in our team are located in APA region.

 

 

What you’ll do:

 

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high performing logistics team to meet service, cost, and delivery objectives.
  • Oversee factory and multi region distribution operations, ensuring efficient material flow and proper handling of rubber, steel, composite, and ceramic consumables.
  • Drive visibility and tracking of shipments across warehouses, customer facilities, mine sites, and remote locations, covering both company arranged and customer arranged freight.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives, KPIs, and standardized logistics processes to enhance operational performance.
  • Manage escalations related to complex logistics challenges, carrier performance issues, and customer impacting delays, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Oversee compliance with safety, environmental, and transportation regulations across all logistics activities.
  • Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and long term planning for logistics operations and infrastructure.
  • Support regional logistics initiatives and other duties as assigned to ensure reliable delivery and operational excellence.

 

 

What you'll bring:

 

  • Relevant education or experience in Logistics, Supply Chain, Operations Management.
  • Strong experience overseeing multi-site warehouse or distribution operations.
  • Demonstratable experiences in Complex / Project related shipments 
  • Proficiency with ERP systems, logistics KPIs, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Knowledge of transportation networks for heavy, oversized, or specialized components.
  • Experience in developing and executing logistics strategies across multiple regions or countries and lead teams through coaching and mentoring.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
