Introduction and Team you will belong to

 

You will work within the Consumables Supply Chain and be responsible for Quality Engineering of a manufacturing unit based at Canning vale that has a key role to contribute our Tier 1 journey by running and maintaining technically our globally standardized quality assurance processes to meet the requirements set in Global Quality Control Plans.

 

 

Key Role Responsibilities:

 

  • Lead local quality assurance activities in alignment with Metso Global Quality standards and requirements.
  • Identify, classify, investigate, and manage non-conformances in accordance with global processes and facilitate Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) activities to eliminate root causes and prevent recurrence.
  • Support customer complaint investigations and lead structured root cause analysis initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain quality technologies, including measurement equipment, calibration systems, and testing capabilities.
  • Establish, monitor, and report key quality performance indicators, including Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ)
  • Drive quality performance improvement initiatives aligned with site and business objectives
  • Lead continuous improvement projects that improve product quality, process capability, and operational efficiency.
  • Conduct Management Review Meetings in accordance with global quality governance requirements.
  • Oversee rubber laboratory testing activities within the in-house rubber testing laboratory.
  • Support the development of quality competencies across the manufacturing operation.
  • Collaborate with local and global quality professionals to share best practices and drive standardisation.
  • Represent the site within the Rubber & Polymet Supply Chain Global Quality Network.

 

 

Qualifications & Experience

 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in Quality Assurance, or Manufacturing Quality within an industrial environment.
  • Experience leading CAPA investigations, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Experience working with SAP ERP systems and quality data analysis tools.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 applications.
