Introduction

We are looking for a Test Engineer to join our Market Area Sales and Service Mexico team. This role will play a crucial part in performing and coordinating testing activities relating to machines, spares and wears, and providing customers with technical services in conjunction with sales. In this position, you will report to the Director, MIN Sales, Mexico and Central America.

This position is mainly located in Cananea, Sonora MX or Zacatecas, Zacatecas. However, it involves up to 50-70% of travel to Customer Sites.

You will join a team of experts dedicated to providing solutions to Sales Manager and Customers

We work closely with internal stakeholders, such as Sale Account Managers and Direct Customers. Our team culture is all about providing the best solutions for the customer and internal stakeholders.  The members in our team are in Mexico.


What you’ll do:

  • The primary responsibility will be to collect samples on-site, transport sampling equipment, and load the samples.
  • Support the Testing Team Manager in executing laboratory test work on time, within budget, and within scope.
  • Assist in and execute comminution and flotation surveys as assigned.
  • Contribute to the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for laboratory and testing programs.
  • Perform laboratory testing procedures in accordance with established standards.
  • Assist in the setup, maintenance, and operation of laboratory and testing equipment.
  • Support the specification and procurement of new laboratory equipment.
  • Prepare, review, and contribute to laboratory data analysis and technical reports.
  • Assist in proposal preparation.
  • Participate in customer site visits.
  • Complete preliminary mass balances when required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

What you’ll bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Metallurgical Engineering; or 3–6 years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 6 months to 2 years of experience in mining, aggregates, or relevant laboratory environments.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
  • Valid driver’s license and passport.
  • Physically fit and able to work in field environments.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Availability to travel on short notice.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documentation in English.
  • Fast learner with a proactive attitude and willingness to develop new skills.
  • Experience in comminution and/or flotation surveys is an asset.
  • Experience with mass balancing software is an asset.
  • Experience using databases and MS Project is an asset.
