Introduction

We are seeking a Procurement and Logistic Manager to join our Metso, Screening BL, China Region, Consumable team. You will be responsible for overseeing end-to-end supply chain operations, ensuring efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and seamless delivery; leading strategic planning, procurement, logistics, supplier quality and inventory management while fostering collaboration across departments. Your role plays a crucial part in optimizing processes, mitigating risks, and aligning supply chain activities with business goals. In this position, you will report to General Manager, Screening BL, China Region.

 

This position is mainly located in Shenyang.

 

Team you belong to

 

You will join a team of screening business unit dedicated to screening equipment.


We work closely with internal stakeholders, such as China Operation team, R&D Engineering and Manufacturing Process & Quality head, Global Regional teams, China Regional Capital, Spare and Media Sales teams, Regional Product Managers and Delivery team, China Regional Project Managers, CNS Supply Chain and MA China HOP, Logistic Operation, Legal teams of representative MA China. What you’ll do

 

  • Supply Chain Planning & Strategy  

  - Develop demand forecasts and inventory strategies using ERP systems (e.g., SAP).  

  - Align supply plans with production schedules and sales targets.  

  - Monitor KPIs (on-time delivery, cost savings, inventory turnover).  

  • Procurement & Supplier Management

  - Source and negotiate with suppliers to reduce costs and ensure quality.  

  - Build long-term supplier relationships and manage contracts and supplier quality.  

  - Mitigate risks related to supply disruptions and market changes.

  • Logistics & Distribution

  - Optimize transportation modes (road, air, sea) and manage carrier contracts.  

  - Oversee warehousing, 3PL partnerships, and reverse logistics.  

  • Inventory Optimization

  - Implement Lean/Six Sigma practices to minimize excess stock.

  - Conduct regular audits and cycle counts.

  • Compliance & Sustainability

  - Ensure adherence to regulations (OSHA, ISO, customs).

  - Drive sustainability initiatives (eco-friendly packaging, carbon footprint reduction).

  • Team Leadership

  - Mentor a team of analysts, planners, and coordinators.

  - Foster cross-departmental collaboration with Sales, Manufacturing, and Finance.

  • Risk Management & Innovation

  - Develop contingency plans for disruptions (natural disasters, geopolitical issues).

  - Explore automation/digital tools (AI, IoT) to enhance visibility. 

 

Who you are

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Mechanical Engineering, Quality System, Mineral Processing, Mining or Aggregate equivalent.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in overall Supply chain management that covers Planning, Procurement, Sourcing, SQE, Logistics role(s) for large project activities, preferably with Aggregates, Mining, Mineral Processing or Industrial Minerals Equipment and Projects.
  • Ability to interpret the data accurately and background experience.
  • Experience with Vibrating equipment is essential.

Experience with the use of ERP and SAP is preferred.

  • Knowledge and understanding of Vibrating equipment, specifically screening and vibratory feeders.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Mineral, Aggregates processing and associated equipment.
  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering discipline.
  • Must be able to effectively discuss, explain and coordinate requirements and designs with engineers across other functional disciplines.
  • High degree of precision and attention to detail.
  • Fundamental knowledge of commercial and legal terms and conditions.
  • Willingness to develop technical knowledge in mineral processing applications and both Metso Saimu dual-brand portfolio into a strongly financial-oriented support function.
  • Strong negotiation skills, familiar with multi-national companies and cross culture working environment
  • Highly organized and able to multitask and prioritize various activities to ensure timely and accurate compliance with schedule and budget requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and oral) and good interpersonal skills are required, as the successful candidate will have frequent interaction with both internal and external customers.
  • Fluent English proficiency, in both, written and verbal segments is required.
  • Self-motivating and target driven. Highly motivated with ability to work and meet tight delivery schedules.
  • Strong personality to correctly overcome information deficits, including the willingness to seek support from others.
  • Experience / knowledge in Aggregates or Mining and understanding our customers processes.
  • Must be able to function effectively both as a member of a team and as an individual.
  • Must be capable of effectively and accurately working on several projects at one time.
  • In depth knowledge of personal computers, including MS Office products (Word, Excel, Power Point).
