We are seeking a Testwork Engineer to join our Minerals team. The role will be responsible for completing test work for our clients and relevant stakeholders. In this position, you will report to the Director, Proposals & Test Work.
This position is based in the, Metso Perth Technology Center, located in Bayswater, WA.

What you’ll do
• Liaise with clients on their test work requirements and develop test work plans in conjunction with Sales Managers and Technical Managers
• Assist the Sales team with the development of client relationships and provide early sales leads
• Establish metallurgical parameters for laboratory and pilot test work
• Carry out laboratory and pilot testing for thickening, clarifying, filtration, grinding and other metallurgical process applications
• Report writing and the use of data to select and size the appropriate industrial scale equipment with support from Technical Managers
• Carry out metallurgical and development test work on various metallurgical treatment plants
• Maintenance of test reporting database and hazardous chemical databases (MSDS’S)
• Support research and development projects
• Maintenance planning and implementation for pilot equipment
• Responsibility for laboratory purchases and maintenance of laboratory equipment
• Preparation and maintaining of pilot equipment operating and maintenance manuals
• Responsibility for QA lab procedures
This position requires the ability to travel both domestically and internationally
Who you are
• Tertiary degree in Extractive Metallurgy or Mechanical, Chemical or Electrical Engineering or extensive relevant technical experience
• 3+ years experience in the mineral processing industry or chemical processing industries
• Excellent report writing skills
• Demonstrated ability to liaise with internal and external customers
• A methodical and consistent approach to routine test work
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong practical mechanical and process problem solving skills
• Ability to perform complex analytical calculations
• Technical orientation and familiarity with metallurgy, mechanical equipment and process systems
