SERVICE TECHNICIAN – AUTOMATION. SPECIALISING IN MINERAL PROCESSING ANALYTICAL EQUIPMENT
Metso is seeking a motivated, Service Technician to join our high achieving Service team specialising in Mineral Processing Analytical Equipment Inspections, Maintenance and Repairs.
About the role:
The successful applicant will play a crucial part in performing and coordinating service activities relating to our equipment including Metso Analyzer Installed Base, Particle Size Analysers (PSI) and Elemental Analysers (Courier) related spares, and wears, and providing customers with technical services support in conjunction with our sales team. In addition to this, other key responsibilities will include;
- Provide hands-on service work on Metso Mineral Processing Analytical Equipment in the field at various customer site.
- Provide technical liaison services between customers, product divisions and sales personnel.
- Perform technical evaluations and analyse equipment and machine component failures.
- Supervise and oversee projects on customer sites.
- Complete field machine inspections per global and customer procedures.
- Escalate questions and analysis to Technical Support and Engineering.
- Prepare post site visit reports, time sheets and expenses after site visits.
- Support warranty process and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) where applicable.
About you:
- An Electrical/ Instrumentation/ Engineering qualification.
- Programable Logic Controller & Distributed Control Systems experience advantageous.
- High-level fault-finding aptitude.
- Intermediate computer literacy in MS Office – Word and Excel.
- Must have current motor vehicle license.
- Must be physically fit and able to pass random medical and drug tests.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical schematics.
- Ability to work away from home, for extended periods and extended hours, on weekends or as required.
- Clearly understand and competency in Risk management and safety rule compliance.
- Full OEM training on Metso Analytical Equipment provided.
