We are seeking an ambitious and motivated business professional to join our team as Advisor Technical Pumps, which is located in Iquique.
- Job Description
Technical Advisor, Pumps is accountable for the planning and execution during relationship with assigned Account, promoting the high performance of Metso Pumps Portfolio. In this role, the position holder is responsible for ensuring adequate care of installed base and growing Metso Pumps equipment business through on-site presence, anticipating solutions to reinforce a world-class advisory. The position holder has the skills to communicate with all organizational levels of Customer, influencing decisions to maximize the Metso position into the plants. The position holder is the essential part to rolling-out strategy and tactical actions to increase the Metso Pumps portfolio for greenfield and brownfield projects.
- Main responsibilities
- Become the first technical contact point for Metso Pumps portfolio at assigned accounts, anticipating any potential issue.
- Implement the on-site strategy to become MD Pumps as number-one in mill discharge and other applications.
- Planning, execution, performance and technical advisory to replace competitors, especially for MD Pumps.
- Participate full involved with the End-User at daily coordination meetings.
- Develop, implement, and update technical procedures & instructive to ensure a standard on-site installation, creating differentiations through constructability and maintainability approaches.
- Be the referenced advisor for Plant maintenance, reliability and operations group.
- Incorporate all HSEC standard in documentation and activities.
- Know, understand and apply the HSEC Policies, Metso and End-Users
- Develop and implement a business plan to achieve financial and growth targets.
- In collaboration with the BL team, assess, determine and mutually agree on Mill Discharge targets.
- Work with procurement and manufacturing organizations to ensure appropriate inventory levels for the MD Products in conjunction with the Product Manager MD Pumps
- Provide the necessary training to effectively sell pumps or dislodge the Competition in the Comminution processes.
- Monitor competitor activity in the market area with respect to pricing, new products, customer supply agreements, etc., and work jointly with and in support of BL (and vice versa) to develop ways to counteract and mitigate the competitions’ efforts.
- Assist to develop business and technical support plans for penetrating key accounts with Metso MD products.
- Perform equipment surveys of competitor equipment for account data. Travel to customer sites to study their existing applications. Analyse pumps and pipeline systems to provide technical support or providing recommendations to our customers. Assist customer with product information to upgrade their existing pumps using the latest pump technology.
- Recommend spare parts needed to properly maintain their pumps while in service. Inventory Management studies and recommendations for minimum stock levels.
- Study pump performance and wear life evaluations.
- Offer technical improvements to the BL Product Management & Design Teams based on actual field experience, customer feedback and competitor product knowledge.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Requirements
- Four (04) years applicable Engineering or Business Degree.
- At least 10 years’ equivalent experience with Slurry Pumps & Systems with at least 05 of them with Mill Discharge Class 4 Pumps & Systems.
- Ten (10) years applicable industry, company, and product experience.
- Five (05) years of relevant on-site mining expertise dealing with the End-User: Maintenance, Operations, Reliability, Engineering, HSEC, etc.
- Knowledge about legal mining industry affairs and Contracts Management.
- A proven track record of professional accomplishments and reliability.
- National exposure and experience in the Mining Markets in Chile, especially at assigned Accounts.
- Familiarity with the broad range of Metso Pumps BA equipment / products.
- Solid knowledge base with Metso business and applications, the industry, and the customers
- Results oriented.
- Ability to understand and drive financial measures for this specific business.
- Strong people skills and the ability to lead and motivate others.
- Strong communication skills and the cooperative, interpersonal and presentation skills to manage internal and external interfaces.
- High capacity to generate and win business (commercial profile).
- English: Full proficiency (written and verbal) and Health compatible for high geographical altitude.
