Introduction: 

 

The Operations Controller will be responsible for financial controlling activities for Operations in the Rubber & Poly-Met Factory. The role will support factory management through operative and financial reporting, cost analysis, budgeting, forecasting, inventory control, compliance monitoring and business performance improvement initiatives.

You will work closely with internal & external stakeholders, such as Planning, Production, Technical Service, Procurement, etc. The team members are sitting across the globe.

 

What you’ll do

 

  • Prepare operational and financial reports as per Supply Chain and factory management requirements.
  • Monitor financial performance against plan, analyse variances and recommend actions to optimise costs and improve financial performance.
  • Lead and support the annual budgeting process, quarterly estimates, monthly rolling forecasts and mid-month updates with factory management.
  • Actively participate in product cost analysis, monitor cost changes and assess the financial impact of such changes.
  • Monitor standard cost and activity rates in relation to factory operational costs and raw material costs.
  • Analyse the accuracy and quality of manufacturing operational processes and recommend improvement proposals.
  • Ensure financial compliance across factory operations and maintain adequate internal controls.
  • Provide financial insights and support to Operations for effective decision-making and control implementation.
  • Liaise with the Operations team to monitor inventory movement, ensure accuracy of inventory transactions, investigate discrepancies and reconcile system inventory records with physical stock.
  • Review and control production work-in-progress and support accurate reporting of inventory and production-related costs.
  • Provide financial support for capital investment decisions and monitor approved budget versus actual spending.
  • Manage controlling-related master data in line with global standards.
  • Work closely with global teams to support process harmonisation across the business.
  • Guide the market area finance team in maintaining accounting processes aligned with operational process changes.
  • Monitor factory internal KPIs and business KPIs, highlighting key trends, risks and improvement areas.
  • Provide ad-hoc financial analysis and support as required by management.

 

Who you are

 

  • 6–10 years of controlling experience; manufacturing experience is preferred.
  • Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
  • MBA qualification or equivalent professional qualification is preferred.
  • Exposure to and working knowledge of SAP & Power BI.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks effectively and meet deadlines.
  • Well-developed communication skills with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with Operations teams and other stakeholders.
  • Good English skills, both written and verbal.
