We are looking for an Officer, Sourcing to join our Procurement team at the Alwar Plant. In this role, you will support sourcing and procurement activities for capital projects and manufacturing requirements, helping ensure timely delivery, cost competitiveness, quality compliance, and strong supplier performance. You will report to the Manager, Planning & Procurement, Aggregates.
This role is based in Alwar, India, and is offered on a third-party contract. The position is an individual contributor role and requires close collaboration with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and cross-functional project teams. The role also requires travel, mainly to supplier locations and other relevant business sites as needed.
What you’ll do
- Support end-to-end sourcing and procurement activities for customer projects and manufacturing requirements.
- Prepare and manage requests for quotations, supplier comparisons, and techno-commercial evaluations.
- Coordinate supplier selection, negotiations, purchase order creation, and order follow-up in line with business needs.
- Track budget versus actual costs and support cost optimization, savings, and value improvement initiatives.
- Identify, evaluate, and develop suppliers for fabrication, bought-out parts, assemblies, and related sourcing needs.
- Monitor supplier performance, including on-time delivery, quality, responsiveness, and risk areas.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment on project timelines, technical requirements, and delivery priorities.
- Ensure procurement activities follow applicable processes, compliance requirements, and system practices, including SAP-based purchase requisition to purchase order activities.
What you’ll bring
- A degree or diploma in Engineering, Business, or a related field.
- Around 3–4 years of relevant experience in procurement and/or sourcing, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Understanding of project procurement, supplier management, and purchase order processes.
- Good negotiation, cost management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with internal stakeholders and external suppliers in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication skills and a proactive, accountable way of working.
- Experience with SAP or another ERP system is seen as an advantage.
- Exposure to heavy engineering, automotive, fabrication, hydraulics, or assembly sourcing is considered a plus.
