Introduction

 

Metso Screening Business Line (SCB) currently has 15+ screening products/platforms to cover the needs of the global markets. This comes with a certain level of complexity, partly hindering the screening business line growth. The Screening Business Line has decided to run a multi-year strategic program to develop and implement this one modular screening offering.  The targets are to ensure that SCB have the products that are needed to reach the highly set growth targets with clear tier-one profitability. A design engineer is needed to support the program with various technical tasks.

 

Team you belong to

 

As member of program team, you will ensure that our company develops the most reliable, cost-effective products in the market fulfilling the programs targets You will be responsible to design and analyze a wide range of parts and systems for our mining and aggregate range, dealing with stake holders globally.

 

What you’ll do

 

The design engineer support technical streams of the program. The technical streams consists of creating a new modular design architecture, verifying the design architecture, help developing tools and processes and later take part in launching the new product ranges according to the modular product roadmap. The Design Engineer will take part in the development, improving and validating parts and products, working in close collaboration with the wider program team, global Engineering Team and multiple interfaces – namely manufacturing, quality, suppliers, etc.

 

  • Drive design activities to find and evaluate technical solutions, as required by the program
  • Visualize different technical solutions
  • Help collate and analyze needed technical data. 
  • Other administrative tasks, as required.
  • Document various technical solutions as needed.
  • Communicate to ensure alignment and collaboration.

 

Who you are

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Mechatronics or related areas).
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in relevant field, e.g. heavy machinery and manufacturing, OEM experience, etc.
  • CAD (preferably Inventor) and basic understanding of CAE.
  • Ability to visualize various technical solutions
  • Ability to take initiative, organise and communicate effectively.
  • Ability to work Independently / Autonomously.
  • Excellent communication skills in English language, additional languages advantageous
  • Knowledge of manufacturing and assembling methodologies.
  • Knowledge about Bill of Materials and product cost.
  • ERP (preferably SAP).
  • PLM/PDM (preferably Teamcenter).
  • Ability to travel internationally
