Introduction

 

We are seeking an Engineer for Mechanical maintenance related work to supports in Ahmedabad foundry unit, you will be responsible for Mechanical maintenance related work.

 

Team You Belong To

You will be part of the Foundry Maintenance Team, which plays a critical role in ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and continuous improvement of mechanical systems and equipment across the foundry operations.
We work closely with Production, Quality, Electrical Maintenance, and Safety teams to maintain high standards of equipment performance, minimize downtime, and support sustainable manufacturing practices.


What You'll Do

  • Lead and support preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities for foundry equipment such as induction furnaces, mold handling systems, sand reclamation units, and cooling systems.
  • Monitor and analyze equipment performance data to identify trends, reduce breakdowns, and improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement mechanical improvements that enhance process reliability, energy efficiency, and safety.
  • Drive root cause analysis (RCA) and failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) for recurring mechanical issues, ensuring long-term solutions are implemented.
  • Support capital projects and equipment upgrades, including specification, installation, commissioning, and documentation.
  • Maintain and update mechanical drawings, equipment manuals, and maintenance records using digital tools and CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, statutory regulations, and internal policies during maintenance and repair activities.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives such as TPM (Total Productive Maintenance), Kaizen, and Lean Manufacturing.
  • Train and mentor junior technicians and operators on mechanical systems, maintenance best practices, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Coordinate with vendors and service providers for outsourced maintenance, spare parts procurement, and technical support.
  • Contribute to sustainability goals by optimizing energy usage, reducing waste, and supporting green manufacturing initiatives.
  • Be available for emergency maintenance and support during critical production periods, including occasional weekend or holiday shifts.

Who You Are

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • 2–4 years or diploma 3-6years  of hands-on experience in mechanical maintenance within a foundry or heavy manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of foundry equipment, hydraulics, pneumatics, gearboxes, pumps, and mechanical systems.
  • Familiarity with CMMS platforms and digital maintenance tools for scheduling, tracking, and reporting.
  • Skilled in interpreting mechanical drawings, P&IDs, and technical documentation.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical faults under time-sensitive conditions.
  • Understanding of safety protocols, risk assessments, and statutory compliance related to mechanical maintenance.
  • Exposure to TPM, Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
  • Good communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Willingness to work in a dynamic, high-temperature environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Ability to lead small teams and manage contractors during maintenance shutdowns or project execution.
