We seek a highly motivated QA/QC professional to join our Services Asia Pacific and Australia (APA) Strategic Sourcing team. This role will involve the supplier's QA/ QC activities in Asia Pacific and Australia, with regular travel to Southeast Asia.

The Role Responsibilities:

  • Inspections are done according to Australian Standards, American Standards, and Client Specifications.
  • Documenting and witnessing welding procedures, production welds and welder qualifications to relevant standards.
  • Visual inspection, including NDT surface methods
  • Dimension measurement of machined items
  • Interpret and cross-check survey data
  • Coating inspection of structures is performed upon completion and during application.
  • Packing and loadout inspection
  • Coordinate technical queries
  • Expediting the job according to the agreed manufacturing schedule
  • Check and sign off ITP hold points
  • Progressive verification of MDR and release sign-off 
  • Compile and submit weekly inspection reports.
  • Attend progress meetings
  • Failure Investigations and NCR Closeout
  • Root cause Analysis and implementing corrective and preventive actions
  • Carry out vendor capability audit and sustainability audit using the standard template
  • Drive and implement Metso sustainability programme   

 

The successful candidate will possess the following:

Essential

  • Ten-plus years of experience in QA/QC within the heavy-fabrication industry
  • Experience in Stockyard bulk material handling machines such as Car Dumpers, Stacker Reclaimers and Apron Feeders will be an added advantage
  • Experience in 1554 Part 5 welding inspections and improvements
  •  International Welding Engineer - Certificate AU/IWE/0099
  • CSWIP 3.2.2 Senior Welding Inspector
  • AS2214 Certification of Welding Supervisors
  • Magnetic Particle Testing, AINDT LEVEL II
  • Penetrant Testing, AINDT LEVEL II
  • Radiographic Testing, AINDT LEVEL II
  • NACE Coating Inspector Level 2
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Experienced in managing a global vendor base.
  • Experienced in negotiating commercial terms and conditions. 
  • Working knowledge in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment, positively contributing to the organisation's culture.
  • Ability to articulate, engage and analyse situations, seeking practical solutions for a positive outcome.

 

Desirable

  • Experience in SAP, Power BI, Jagger Pool 4 Tool
  • Occupational Health and Safety Induction Training
  • ISO 9001: 2015 Lead Auditor
  • Experience in using Total Station for checking alignment and dimensions
  • Experience using Micrometre and vernier callipers
