Repairs Coordinator

A position has become available for Repairs Coordinator, based in Ghana.

 

We are Repairs Coordinator to join our Field Service Team.

You will be responsible for repairs activities in the West African Region, which include but not limited to building and maintaining active long-term relationship with key decision makers at customer site level and continuously promote Metso’s value adding offering.

 

This position is mainly located in Ghana.

 

TEAM YOU WILL BELONG TO

You will join a team of Field Service Professionals that strive to effectively deliver seamless customer experience, that meets the customers’ needs and supporting the entire field service team to enhance and build solid customer relationships.

You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders, such as the Field Service and LCS Team, Site Account Management Team, Technical Sales Support Team, External Customers, and all other internal Service Providers in WAF. 

 

WHAT YOU’LL DO

JOB STATEMENT

Repairs coordinator is responsible for overseeing the refurbishment and maintenance of OEM equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity. Identify new customers, equipment and promote the unique offering in West Africa to the Metso customers.

 

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Market Research and Analysis:

  • Working with PSE and other teams, conduct thorough market research to identify new business opportunities.
  • Analyse market trends, customer needs, and competitor activities to inform strategic decisions.

Lead Generation:

  • Identify and generate new leads through various channels such as networking, cold calling, visiting customer sites and walking the scrap yards, looking for repairable opportunities.
  • Work with the FSE team to identify potential customers and equipment.
  • Develop and maintain a pipeline of potential clients.

Client Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients.
  • Understand client needs and provide tailored solutions to meet their requirements, keeping in mind the limitation to the capabilities of partners in West Africa, do not over promise and under deliver.
  • Work with the PSE team to negotiate contracts and close deals to achieve sales targets and aid foreseeable growth in the market.
  • Manage contractors and 3rd party Vendors whiles on customer sites. Co-ordinate activities on site and manage customer expectations.

Strategic Planning:

  • Develop and implement business development strategies to achieve company goals.
  • Set realistic targets and key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure success.
  • Collaborate with other departments to align strategies and ensure cohesive execution.

Technical Expertise:

  • Work with 3rd party Vendors to formulize a realistic approach to the refurbishment of crusher part.
  • Develop a detailed plan for the repair with timelines and share frequently with end users.
  • Assist and guide the disassembly, inspection, and reassembly of equipment on customer sites or 3rd party Vendors.
  • Ensure that all refurbishment work meets OEM standards and specifications.

Proposal Development:

  • Prepare and present compelling business proposals to potential clients.
  • Work with the PSE and QOM to offer a complete assembly to customers, combining labour and spare parts.
  • Customize proposals to address specific client needs and demonstrate the value of the company's offerings

Quality Control:

  • Conduct inspections and tests to verify the quality of refurbishment work.
  • Implement quality control procedures to ensure consistent results.
  • Address any issues or defects promptly to maintain high standards.
  • Oversee and sign off on quality plans once components are ready for delivery.
  • Manage and control the release and handover to the customer.
  • Manage and control document flow and archiving for future reference.

Safety Compliance:

  • Ensure all refurbishment activities on customer sites and or 3rd party workshops comply with Metso minimum safety standards.
  • Promote a culture of safety within the team, support and cascade down to contractors and employees.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain detailed records of refurbishment activities and equipment history, quotes and scope of work for quick future references.
  • Generate reports on refurbishment progress, costs, and outcomes.
  • Communicate effectively with other departments and stakeholders.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities for improving refurbishment processes and techniques.
  • Implement best practices and innovative solutions to enhance efficiency and quality.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in refurbishment technology.

 

 

 

RELATIONSHIPS

In this position, you will report directly to the Field Service and LCS Manager – West Africa.

AUTHORITY

Authorized to service, and provide technical support towards agreed service plans, objectives and within guidelines as established by the Africa Market Area.

 

WHO YOU ARE

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Higher National Diploma /BSc in Mechanical Engineering or related course.
  • Minimum of 4 years of working experience in field service or technical support.
  • 2 or more years of experience with direct customer interaction related to industrial equipment, field service or technical support.
  • Advanced verbal and writing skills
  • Computer literacy and MS Office Skills are an inherent requirement

  • Able to work with other people effectively, including fellow employees, customers, and contractors
  • English language proficiency is required
